Homecoming Adoptions also does NOT add any restrictions or requirements to the process in addition to those of the countries themselves. We have see Adoption Agencies make it more difficult for people to adopt a child by adding their own restrictions. Restrictions we have seen include terminating adoptions if you get pregnant during the process, limiting how many children you can adopt, limiting your choices of age or gender, unduly restricting your permissible age and/or health and other aspects of your background, requiring that you promise to never “spank” your child, etc. If the most important aspect of this process is for an orphan to find a home and family, we see no reason to make that any more difficult than necessary.
